Relationship with BeADisciple.com Brings Online Course Options

We are delighted to announce two online, spiritual formation courses which will be released in the early New Year – part of a larger body of coursework being hosted by BeADisciple.com, one of several programs of the Richard and Julia Wilke Institute for Discipleship at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas:

Spiritual Disciplines for Personal and Parish Renewal (IFDC220)
January 21 – March 1, 2019

Teaching Biblical Faith for Spiritual Formation (IFDC210)
March 11 – April 26, 2019 (No class during Holy Week)

It’s exciting to get to work with the IFD and BeADisiciple – and especially exciting to be able to connect this work with my core passion in and for spiritual formation. In addition to getting to design and teach these two courses, mine is the real pleasure of getting to be the Lead Instructor/Coordinator of all coursework related to BeADisciple’s certification program in spiritual formation. (Those so inclined/interested may apply credits from these courses in a larger process of certification in spiritual formation, available through the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church.)

More information about these courses (including registration) is available by clicking on the first course title, above.  Or you can drop us a line by clicking here.

It’s worth sharing all of this with you – even if these two immediate offerings do not appeal to you.  There’s a broader concept to be acknowledged and affirmed here: namely, that a host of online opportunities for Christian education and spiritual enrichment abound out there. Of course, the need for caution and discernment as one approaches such opportunities is hopefully clear. All the more reason for me to heartily endorse the wide variety of offerings at BeADisciple.com – even as I sound my joy at getting to affiliate with them!
